From DC to Charleston

Elizabeth and Phil’s love story began in DC but they tied the knot at the classic venue, William Aiken House, just minutes away from Elizabeth’s Charleston roots. One of our favorite design approaches at this venue is making the space feel like it is an extension of the couple’s own home and for this special day, the outside reception space was designed to feel like the couple’s backyard garden. Sweet seating vignettes, garden style potted trees and romantic lanterns and candle light throughout the space made for the most ethereal setting.

A twist on the classic tradition

Two of our favorite details of the day were the “something borrowed” family heirloom cake table linen and the “something blue” delphinium floral that was elegantly tucked into the bride’s gorgeous bouquet. I will also never forget how precious it was to witness the couple each presenting each other with a gift during their first look. Elizabeth surprised Phil with a Rolex and Phil stunned Elizabeth with a diamond bracelet!

As the night moved on, focusing on food and music was a must for this fun loving couple.

The dance floor was full all night long and guests busted out epic dance moves underneath a dreamy floral install! Ending on a high note, espresso martinis were passed with wedding cake, creating the perfect night cap. There was no lack of celebration of this couple’s union and their epic party was the perfect start to their next chapter!
