A Charleston Bride employs three, full-time event coordinators, MELISSA BARTON, CARRIE GLASSCOCK and LINDSEY SHANKS. With a combined experience of over 25 years planning both weddings and corporate galas, we offer extensive knowledge in wedding etiquette, food & beverage, production and project management, all of which are critical to orchestrating a successful event. Each planner only accepts one wedding per weekend, offering their clients the utmost respect & service. For this reason, A Charleston Bride is known by both clients & local vendors as one of the most highly regarded firms in Charleston.

    Melissa Barton

    Melissa Barton is a true Charleston Native – born and raised. After graduating from the College of Charleston with a degree in Business Adminis- tration, she began coordinating corporate events for a real estate company, and was soon adding weddings to her event planning repertoire. She founded A Charleston Bride in 2001.

    Carrie Glasscock

    Carrie Glasscock, originally from Atlanta, is a graduate of Auburn University in Apparel Design & Production.  With previous experience in catering & restaurant management, she moved to the Coast over 10 years ago to begin her event coordination career at a local and highly coveted historic venue.  She joined Melissa as a full time Coordinator in 2006.

    Lindsey Shanks

    As a graduate of Louisiana State University, Lindsey began her event planning career in Dallas & New York City. After relocating to Charleston in 2011, she found her passion in the wedding industry and joined A Charleston Bride as a full-service coordinator.

    Jonie LaRosee joined A Charleston Bride in 2008 as the head floral designer and manages the floral division of the company.  She has over 18 years of experience in floral management and design.

    Caroline Messier joined A Charleston Bride in 2012 as the Design & Production Manager. A native of Sullivan’s Island, she has worked in the Charleston event planning industry since graduating from the College of Charleston in 2009.

    Quinn Sherman

    As a southern transplant that has frequented the Charleston area her entire life, Quinn returned to the Lowcountry in early 2012 and joined A Charleston Bride as an Assistant Coordinator & Office Manager. Quinn is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with previous experience in events, managing a wedding blog, and serving as a media editor for an online magazine.
