About Us

A Charleston Bride employs two, full-time event coordinators, MELISSA BARTON and CARRIE GLASSCOCK. With a combined experience of over 20 years planning both weddings and corporate galas, the duo offers extensive knowledge in wedding etiquette, food & beverage, production and project management, all of which are critical to orchestrating a successful event. Each planner only accepts one wedding per weekend, offering their clients the utmost respect & service. For this reason, A Charleston Bride is known by both clients & local vendors as one of the most highly regarded firms in Charleston.

    Melissa Barton

    Melissa Barton is a true Charleston Native – born and raised. After graduating from the College of Charleston with a degree in Business Adminis- tration, she began coordinating corporate events for a real estate company, and was soon adding weddings to her event planning repertoire. She founded A Charleston Bride in 2001.

    Carrie Glasscock

    Carrie Glasscock, originally from Atlanta, GA, joined Melissa in 2006. She is a graduate of Auburn University and began her event coor- dination career at the William Aiken House, a local and highly coveted venue. She has over 10 years experience in both event coordination and the food & beverage industry.

    Leigh Warren

    Leigh Warren joined A Charleston Bride in 2007 as the company’s assistant coordinator and manages the event décor division. She brings over 5 years in event management experience to the company.

    Jonie LaRosee has over 15 years experience and manages the ACB floral division. Most recently she was a lead designer at Tiger Lily Florist, one of the largest and well-known florists in Charleston.
