Happy Anniversary Mr. & Mrs. Beacham!

Monday, May 28th, 2012

Wow; time flies! We can’t believe it’s been a year since Laura & Worth’s wedding weekend!

Some of our favorite details from their wedding were:

  • Their sweet Ceremony!  The sun set over the lowcountry marshscape & the cheerful- yet romantic Chuppa made a gorgeous backdrop for tying the knot!
  • How they got they got the party started! A few of the horn players from Atlanta Rhythm & Groove lead guests to cocktail hour with some lively New Orleans style Jazz. This set a very energized tone for the evening- which lead to a fabulous dance party!
  • Their ride to happily-ever-after! Laura & Worth left their reception via golf cart with their dueling sports team paraphernalia rivaling on magnets from the back (The Clemson Tigers vs. The Georgia Bulldogs). They stayed on the property at the beautiful Litchfield Inn. Cheers to many, many happy years ahead!

Meet our Summer Staff!

Monday, May 21st, 2012

We are super excited about our summer staff! Our new assistants are two rising seniors from College of Charleston- both of whom are communications majors. We are happy to introduce Jamie Adam & Abby Frye to the ACB Team! Here’s a little fun Q&A to get a sense of their style while they dish on celebrity couples, Charleston hang outs & favorite wedding highlights!

Q:      Favorite celebrity wedding?

Jamie:  My favorite upcoming wedding would have to be Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They have been together for so many years and they are anything but ordinary. I expect something extremely unique and original and can’t wait to see all of their kids dressed up!

Abby: Ivanka Trump & Jared Kushner. Her dress was amazing! I wish I could pull it off! :)

Q:  Favorite wedding memory?

Jamie: Surprisingly I have only attended one wedding. It was for a close family friend and I would have to say the moment that stood out to me was seeing the look on the grooms face when the doors of the church opened and the bride appeared.

Abby: At any wedding I’ve been too, I always love when the father gives away the bride, and when they have their dance together. Always brings me to tears.

Q:  Top Honeymoon spot?

Jamie: I am a big fan of warm weather. There is nothing more romantic than sitting together on a romantic beach in Fiji or Tahiti.

Abby: Portofino, Italy or Greece.

Q: What do you hope to gain from this internship?

Jamie: I hope to gain knowledge of what it takes to put together a couples dream wedding as well as forming strong relationships with ACB and vendors.

Abby: I hope to gain a better sense of the wedding planning industry, and to learn some “tips of the trade” to be successful.

Q: Describe you style.

Jamie: Classic yet trendy at the same time.

Abby: Collegiate Chic.

Q:  Favorite place to hang in Charleston: Bar, restaurant, outdoor space, etc.

Jamie: The house I currently am living in has two huge wrap around porches. There is nothing better than sitting on the porch with friends and roommates, people watching, having a nice cold beer and just hanging out.

Abby: Anywhere on the water at Shem Creek, right at sunset.

Q:  What is your favorite wedding color combo?

Jamie: My favorite color is orange, so I have a soft spot for any shades of orange, peach, coral etc. I love seeing a palette of all different shades of orange and pink.

Abby: Summertime Coral and navy (or khaki)

Jamie & Abby are extremely enthusiastic & organized! They have been quick to learn office duties- as well as a huge help with  production & design! We are super stoked to have them on board!!  :)

Laura + Ross Sneak Peek

Wednesday, May 9th, 2012

The wedding of Laura Denton and Ross Fulton was so intimate and fun!  They wed on the beach at Kiawah and followed with a dinner reception on the porch of Ross’ family home also on Kiawah.  They invited only their closest friends and family which turned out to be 45 guests and dined on lowcountry favorites such as braised short ribs, fried green tomatoes and shrimp & grits….

That Party Was Wicked

Monday, May 7th, 2012

As we are sure most of you know, the Broadway blockbuster, Wicked, was recently performed here in Charleston. Seeing the flying monkeys and ruby red shoes reminded us of the Oz-themed birthday party we threw for our dear friend, Kendra, in 2010. Having seen Wicked on Broadway eight or nine times, Oz was the obvious choice of theme for her birthday. We asked Todd at Technical Event Company to help us turn the American Theater on King Street into the wonderful world of witches. Green lights were hung everywhere, a clock was set as the stage’s backdrop, and tents of green satin stood around the floor.
