Your ‘do for the “I do”

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

Location- check. Flowers-check. Music-check. Dress-check. After months and months of planning and anticipation, it’s finally the big day. But everyone knows that as important as a perfect wedding is, the thing people are going to remember the most is how gorgeous the bride looked.

Enter our talented hair and make-up professionals to make the sure the bride is absolutely as stunning as she can be. Carrie McCleod of Paper Dolls Wedding Hair and Makeup calls herself a “hopeless romantic” and can’t get enough of wedding hair and makeup.

Though brides are naturally gorgeous without makeup, Carrie makes sure yours is flawless

“I love when a bride looks at herself in the mirror when I’m finished and I can see in her smile that she loves the way she looks. There are so many touching moments that I get to witness and be a part of at every wedding that I do. I think that my absolute favorite is when the Dad sees his little girl for the first time and starts to cry. Every girl deserves to find love and every bride deserves to feel beautiful on her wedding day!” Carrie says.

Short hair or long, accessories or veils, Carrie can do it all

Another of our favorite stylists is Tanesha Dupree of Affair Hair by Tanesha, who discovered her gift for cutting hair at 13 (the age most of us are just getting over cooties).  Her hair styles are well, works of art.

Tanesha's hair promises to take you from the red carpet to real life

“Hair has always been one of my many canvases and my brushes mirror those of any great artist.Making hair beautiful has always been “my thing” long before I knew it was “my thing”. As a child it was “something to do” but as an adult it is “what I do” and I hope I have the pleasure of doing it for you,” Tanesha says.

Tanesha's do's have gotten more compliments than the dress

Celebrating her tenth anniversary making Charleston brides beautiful with Moore Make Up, Leslie Moore is a makeup artist with a mission: make every woman look and feel her absolute best.

Leslie Moore wants you take people's breath away by being the most stunning bride ever

Leslie says “Something happens when a woman feels radiant, confident, and absolutely beautiful…something happens to them on the inside- it’s like a switch or a spark. I feel if I am lucky enough to have anything to do with that moment, or better yet, if I have the opportunity to instruct them how to get that on their own…then that’s what it’s all about. That’s the big picture!”

We love the Wedding Planner’s Quarterly Luncheon!

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

It was that time of year again on Nov. 9- the Wedding Planner’s Quartlerly Luncheon. We had the treat to take a trip out to the Historic Rice Mill and enjoy an amazing lunch courtesy of their in-house caterer, Good Food Catering.

The menu (printed by the always-elegant Studio R Designs)  was a smoked gouda cavatappi and braised quail.

Not what we had, but still delicious eats from Good Food!

There were too many choices for dessert- and all seasonal! Good Food Catering tempted us with a pumpkin cheese cake. Ashley Bakery created a mouth-watering triple layer pumpkin and creme torte. Elaine’s Events brought a divine walnut creme cake. Yes U May brought signature cookies and cupcakes.

Celebrate the harvest- "Fruitful Love" cookie from Yes-U-May

We were entertained by the David Higgins Band, a local group that plays 2-and-4 piece ensembles (and DJ’s too!). We also got to meet Virgil Bunao of Caputre Me Crazy, who rents out photo booths for wedding parties. The booths print out two strips- one for the bride and groom to keep and another for the guests to take as a cute favor.

Take a seat

Thursday, November 3rd, 2011

Butler and seating cards are one of the first things that guests see- they’re a chance to make a subtle, but still important, impression on your guests. Butler card displays are an opportunity to showcase elegance and creativity while directing guests to the right table.

Butlers used to direct the guests to their tables, but since most of us don’t have butlers anymore, cards have to suffice.

Or, in this case, an elegantly lettered chalkboard.

Or greenery…

We love butler card and seating card combinations. After the butler card directs the guests to their respective tables, they can find their seats courtesy of a gorgeous printed seating card.
We’re a big fan of Studio R Designs for butler and seating cards…

The Best Way to Leave Your Mark- PSA Essentials

Tuesday, November 1st, 2011

We never knew a stamp could be so innovative until we came across PSA Essentials!

PSA Essentials lets you design your very own stamp, and use it for almost anything you can think of such as, luggage tags, stationary, calling cards, place settings, envelopes, invitations, save the dates etc.

This is how it works:

Purchase the new Peel and Stick Stamp, which lets you interchange your design without buying a new stamp body. You will be able to choose your favorite collections and switch designs on a whim.

Above is the stamper, and interchangeable stamps you can use

Once you have purchased the new Peel and Stick Stamp, it’s super easy to change your stamp when you get bored of it.

It may sound a tad bit confusing at first, but we promise, once you get the hang of it, you’ll go stamp crazy!
Basically:

1 Stamp body
+
60 Peel & Stick packs
=
50 billion possibilities
